Little Lambs – Toddler Room
Toddler room is an open plan free flow environment. It offers a wide selection of toys, activities and natural resources that the children can select independently at their own leisure. Staff continue to work on the three prime areas of the EYFS to focus on building the foundations to their learning.
Farmside recognises the important milestones toddlers will reach as they move from baby room around the age of 12 months dependent on their developmental needs. To ensure they are fully supported, each child has a key person that they can emotionally bond with to continue to make them feel comfortable and happy.
Our toddler room staff will support you with setting boundaries and advise you on different types of play so you can make the most out of the time you spend with them at home. On a daily basis, staff will verbally hand over information about what your child has enjoyed throughout the day as well as recording this for you in a daily diary.
Our Toddler room has so much to offer your child as they continue to grow and learn. Using our free flow strategy and in the moment planning we expand on their interests to provide them with new learning opportunities each day. Our careful assessment process allows us to meet your child’s individual needs through play, activities and care giving routines.
Farmside ensures that the toddlers have constant access to a variety of messy play such as shaving foam, sand and even baked beans! We have a communication area where we enjoy singing and stories. There is a cosy corner with cushions and soft toys for the children to go to when they want to relax or just to have a sense of comfort. Farmside provides a range of roleplay, mark making, music and dancing and sensory activities for the toddlers to explore! Our toddlers have regular access to the garden and forest school areas to play games, experience the outdoors and use the slides and playhouse.
Parents are asked to provide: Nappies/Cream, Wipes, Wellies, Sun Hat/sun cream factor 50 and Spare Clothes.
